Our Worship
At GCPC worship is not about style. Worship is about the revelation of God and the response of His people. Our worship draws from many sources in order to help communicate the awesome truths of God’s word. It also allows for a variety of responses to this revelation. We feel free to use ancient hymns or modern songs; historic creeds or spontaneous testimonies; responsive readings or video illustrations. We believe that there are times when the revelation of God moves us to tears or incites us to celebrate. More importantly, we believe that true worship happens outside of the sanctuary. If our lives are not shaped to conform to the will of God, then no matter how earnest we are in the sanctuary, our worship is ineffective. Because of this, our worship services are planned to help people understand God’s will and to give them ways they can conform to His will in everyday life.
When you come to worship at GCPC, you will be greeted by friendly, non-judgmental people who are genuinely glad to see you. You will notice that the sanctuary is a special place. It is a place for the family to come together and to meet with God. It is comfortable and modern, yet it is filled with reminders that we serve and awesome God and share an ancient faith. You will notice announcements on the big screen and soft music playing in the background. From there, worship is different every week at GCPC. One way or the other, you will be comfortable and feel at home. Communion is offered several times a year and all who are Christians are invited to participate.
GCPC offers two worship opportunities on Sundays. Our I-60 Service meets at 8:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. I-60 is a little more relaxed and contemporary in feel. Folks wear casual clothing and enjoy a more intimate gathering. The music for I-60 is led by a band and the sermon is the same for both services. Enjoy early church then a doughnut and Sunday school. Take the rest of the day and enjoy it with your family or friends.
Our 10:45 Service features a variety of music and expressions. There is a blend of ancient and modern elements ranging from a modern country song to the Apostle’s Creed. Sleep in and come to Sunday school at 9:45 and join the family in worship at this meaningful service.
